Mael grew up in Upstate NY, and even though he’s fallen in love with Vermont, he still yearns for the Catskill Mountains sometimes. They moved to Guilford after graduating from Bennington College with a degree focused on collaborative storytelling, and simply can’t imagine leaving. He spent most of his childhood outside, usually with a book, and strives to continue adulthood the same way. They’ve done work in theater, libraries, galleries, summer camps, and more- and now, he couldn’t be more excited to join Hilltop! Ultimately, they plan to work towards a Master’s degree in Library Science, with a focus on school libraries.

At home, he continues his theater work whenever possible (though you’ll never see him on a stage), and spends any free time making slightly strange jewelry or gardening!
