Izzy Snyder is returning for a second year as an Upper El teacher. In this role, she supports students in planning their day, provides one-on-one and small group support to students with their follow up work, helps create Montessori teaching materials, and leads some group lessons within the language arts curriculum. Izzy is passionate about weaving art and creativity into her teaching and finding ways to support each unique student to flourish and succeed.
Izzy is an alumna of Hilltop, graduating in 2015 after spending a few years in Upper El and Middle School. Izzy graduated Oberlin College in 2023 with a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a minor in studio art. Her experiences teaching printmaking at a Montessori-inspired summer camp and tutoring computer science students at Oberlin instilled her with a love of education, and she is excited to continue to apply and grow these skills in the Upper Elementary classroom.
During her free time, Izzy can be found birdwatching, coding mathematical artwork, working on jigsaw puzzles, walking in the woods, doing social justice work in the community, and diving into elaborate art projects.
