Violinist and educator Edward Barnes brings an encouraging, growth-focused approach to Hilltop Montessori School, helping students explore violin with confidence, curiosity, and joy. Holding music degrees from St. Olaf College and UMass Amherst, Edward is a Suzuki-trained violin instructor and a recipient of the Massachusetts Cultural Council’s META (Music Educators and Teaching Artists) Fellowship. As a Teaching Artist at Música Franklin in Greenfield, MA, Edward is dedicated to fostering technical skill, self-confidence, and civic-mindedness in young learners. Edward’s performance background includes Carnegie Hall, national and international tours, and masterclasses with artists like Midori and the Attacca Quartet. Edward is thrilled to help students find their unique musical voice and grow in self-love.
