Bex Slattery was born and raised on the coast of Massachusetts. She landed in Vermont in 2022 and began working at the Garland School in Brattleboro as their cook where she stayed for more than 3 years. Before that she worked at a daycare, in a bakery, as a caregiver, and in a life long before children, she lived and worked on tall ships.

Outside of work, Bex lives in Putney with her partner, Lydia, their two kiddos River and Arbor, and serves on the Selectboard. Cooking, collecting postcards, pals, silliness, quiet moments, and pickled things bring her great joy.

She is thrilled to be joining Hilltop after working closely with children and while raising her own. She feels strongly about providing the right space for children to learn and thrive and can’t wait to learn and grow along with them.
