Mary grew up in Vermont, living in the Middlebury area for sixteen years, and graduated with a BA from Middlebury College this past February. At Middlebury College, she studied Regenerative and Just Food Systems and Education Studies. This past spring, Mary moved to Townshend, Vermont to work at Big Picture Farm. In her free time she enjoys swimming, nordic skiing, writing, line dancing, and cooking.

Mary has worked with children in different capacities over the years, including leading outdoor trips for upper elementary school students through Overland Summers, leading a high school farm crew at the Vermont Youth Conservation Corps, and leading lessons and observing local elementary schools for her college education courses. Mary is excited to join the Hilltop community on Fridays and to learn more about the Montessori philosophy.
