I want to welcome all the new and returning Hilltop families! For those who see me at the traffic
circle and don’t know who I am, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Marco Yunga
Tacuri, and I am the Equity, Justice, and Inclusion Director at Hilltop Montessori School, as well
as the Spanish and P.E. teacher for the Kindergarten students.
I am an Ecuadorian immigrant, and parent of two biracial kids who are currently attending
Hilltop. We moved to Vermont seven years ago, and since then we have been part of this
amazing community. This is my second year as the EJI Director. In my first year, I worked with
staff holding discussions on anti-bias and anti-racism, helped bring in guest speakers who
shared their different cultures, and worked on representation and decolonization in the
curriculum and the classroom. I invite our new families to read my notes from last year so you
can have a better idea of my work at Hilltop.
This year, I am excited to share that I am working on developing a Parent Education
Conversation Series that I would like to offer to our Hilltop families in the near future. Stay tuned
for more information on the series to come.
Yupaichani/Gracias/Thank You!
