The Hilltop Montessori School Board of Trustees gathered via Zoom on Wednesday evening for our penultimate meeting of the school year. It is hard to believe that we are almost at the conclusion of this school year! What an incredible year it has been, with so much amazing work from the whole school community to keep each other safe and connected. With that in mind, we covered a lot of ground, including but not limited to:
- review of the financial standing of the school
- considering the role in our budget of federal stimulus funds the school has received
- the endowment performance in the past year
- considering the words of Ibram X. Kendi on spaces in education and what that means to us at Hilltop.
There is lots of exciting committee work ongoing and coming up over the next year – stay tuned for some fun Development events coming up this spring! And look out for opportunities to serve on Board committees next year, ranging from strategic planning to equity and anti-bias work, to investment strategy. You do not need to be a Trustee to serve on committees! Feel free to reach out to Tamara or the Board Leadership Team (Ellie, Asher, and Alix) if you would like to learn more.
