Benefit Auction
Two days before the Friends of Hilltop Benefit Auction, an intrepid committee of creative parents began decorating the Brattleboro Museum and Art Center using recycled materials. This group set out with the task of decorating the space with "champagne taste on a Kool-Aid budget". By Friday morning their job was complete, the interior space was truly transformed, allowing the Auction Committee to arrange each table with fantastic items donated generously by local and faraway donors.
By the time the doors opened at 5:30 on Saturday, Elizabethan Fare
had been busy setting up a delectable array of Greek delights, the bar was fully stocked by Windham Wines, the sound system had been tested, Alan Lurz and his dessert bakers had won the bake off, and the evening could begin. Good thing, too, because guests began arriving before the doors officially opened and by 6 pm there was a line out the entrance. We were off to a great start.
And indeed, by all accounts the Friends of Hilltop Montessori Benefit Auction was a smashing success. We broke every previous record number by huge margins in our new space: best attendance, best silent auction proceeds, best live auction proceeds, best food, best drink, absolutely best desserts, most helpers ever to clean up, and best after-party at Flat Street!
The pictures say it all: capturing smiling Hilltop parents and friends enjoying a night out with our fabulous school community.
