Heifer Parade

More than 80 parents and kids from the Hilltop Montessori School marched in the Strolling of the Heifers parade in Brattleboro, Vermont on June 7, 2008 to celebrate the school’s launch of a ‘Save Our Soil’ composting and soil studies project funded with a generous grant from the Heifers Foundation.

The Hilltop float featured a traveling garden bed and an ‘Itsy Bitsy Dirt Band’ chanting songs about the living soil that sustains us all. Parents worked closely with kids and faculty to create a highly creative and educational display.
